11/13/10 Week 11 updates

It is now week eleven and the number one Oregon and the number two Auburn remain undefeated. This week Oregon did face a very tough opponent which gave them the biggest scare of the season. Auburn did play how they usually do and put up 49 on the Georgia Bulldogs. A game that I would like to bring is 23 South Carolina vs. 22 Florida, man what a game that was. The last game we would speak about is the thrilling game that went into overtime, USF vs. Louisville.
First lets tackle the 1 Oregon vs. Cal. This was thought to be a blowout game like the rest of them for Oregon. Unfortunately for Oregon Cal came out to play. The division rival had set up a game plan for them like no other this season has. In the first quarter Cal dominated the game with their run game and drew first blood to lead 7-0 Cal. In the second quarter Oregon scored on a punt return and scored on the two point conversion. Oregon now leads 8-7 at half. It seems like the Oregon offense is sleeping and nothing is done to awaken them. In the second half Oregon scored a touch down and made the extra point. The score is now 15-7. With nine minutes left Cal scored a touchdown and missed on the two point conversion. The final score was 15-13 Oregon. Even thought they got the victory I am sure that Oregon was not pleased. They need to get ready for the weeks to come.
The second game that was a god one was 23 South Carolina vs. 22 Florida. The poor old gators just didn't have what it takes to overcome the power of the gamecocks. This was a conference battle that the gators could not come through for. UF began impressively returning the first kick off for a touch down. The game cocks quickly calmed down the gators by scoring a touchdown and a field goal. At the end of the first the score was 9-7. As the game continued it was all game cocks. entering the half the score was 15-7 gamecocks after making two field goals. In the second half it was more of the South Carolina team, they  scored three more touchdowns and held the gators to one. The final score ended u being 36-14 South Carolina. The gators have shown that they are not the same team of the past and have a lot to prove.
The last game is the one and only USF vs. Louisville. This was really a thriller that went into over time. The first quarter was very quiet and Louisville ended up leading and scoring first, the score was 7-0 Louis. In the second quarter USF woke up and scored a touchdown and a field goal, holding Louis to just a touchdown. The score at half was 14-10 Louis. In the third quarter things were very quiet but the bulls were able to put a field goal on the board. Entering the fourth the score was 13-14 Louis. In the fourth quarter USF scored early and went for two and made it, the score was now 21-14. With one minute to play Louis scored and tied the game up at 21; we now head to overtime. After a Louisville turnover USF capitalizes and scores a game winning field goal.

11/06/10 Week 10 Updates

It is now week ten and and number one Oregon and number two Auburn remain undefeated. Oregon ran the score up on Washington beating them 53-16 and Auburn clawed Chattanooga 62-24. Some of the more eye catching games of the week were 6 Alabama vs. 10 LSU, 7 Nebraska vs. Iowa St. and North Carolina vs. 24 Florida St.
Saturday afternoon Alabama took a visit to Baton Rouge with the hope of defeating the high ranked rival. In the first quarter things were very quiet. LSU were the first to drive down the field and convert with a field goal. In the second quarter, things were quiet once again with Alabama being the only ones to drive down and scoring a touchdown this was a one yard pass to Richardson. At half the game was close and could be anyones to win. The second half did  wake up both teams. In the third quarter both teams put a touchdown on the board; the score is now 14-10 Alabama. In the fourth LSU went on a scoring spree they scored two field goals and a touchdown to lead Alabama 24-14. In the last minutes a touch down was scored by Alabama to make the score 24-21 LSU. The tigers ended up winning this sec battle and clinch the SEC.
The second game that was very interesting was number 7 Nebraska vs. the unranked Iowa St. This game really demonstrated the talent and strength of Iowa St. Nebraska drew first blood scoring a td in the first two minutes of the game. Iowa St. quickly responded and scored a td and a field goal in the first quarter making the score 10-7 Iowa St. In the second quarter it was all Nebraska. They scored two touchdowns to make the score 24-10 Nebraska. At half I am more than sure that Iowa St. made an adjustment because they were controlling and protecting the line and secondary. In the fourth quarter it was all Iowa St. they scored two touchdowns to tie the game at 24 and send it to over time. In overtime Nebraska scored a td first and made the extra point to make the score 31-24. When Iowa St. got the ball they scored but decided to go for two. Unfortunately it was failed and Nebraska won. This was a great game to the end and a wake up call for Nebraska.
The last game that seemed to be a very good one was North Carolina vs. 24 Florida St. When these two teams come out to play they always put on a show. They are both competing to lead in their devision and really battled it out. In the first quarter North Carolina showed that they came to play, they drew first blood and ended up leading the first quarter 14-7. FSU did reply and ended up leading in the end of the second quarter. FSU ended up scoring three touchdowns, two passing and one rushing; the tar-heels did score one passing touchdown in the second. The score entering the half was 28-21 FSU. In the second half the tar-heels dominated, they scored three field goals and a touchdown to defeat FSU 37-35.

10/30/10 week 9 updates

Week nine in the bcs is on its way and it just keeps getting better. This week some of the hot games to talk about are Michigan St. Vs. Iowa, Missouri vs. Nebraska and Utah vs. Airforce
Michigan St. is known for winning games and showing up when it counts. In this game Iowa who is ranked 18 game Michigan St who is ranked 5 a run for their money. The Iowa defense was flawless. They did not allow a single touch down till the fourth quarter.  Many believed that Michigan St was the better team but the truth is that Iowa is a tough football team and they play hard. The Iowa offense dominated with over 350 yards of offense and four touchdown. Fortunately Michigan St got to score one touchdown and missed the two point conversion to end the game 37-6 Iowa. The turnovers and mistakes is what really caused Michigan St to continue being undefeated.
The second game in this weeks presentation is Missouri vs. Nebraska. This game was very controversial for Nebraska fans because the quarterback for Missouri de-committed from the big red. So before the game came to mind the big red fans had a grudge toward B. Gabbert the starting quarterback for Missouri. Fortunately the Nebraska defense disrupted Gabbert enough to not let him get comfortable. Nebraska ended up scoring the first 24 points in the first quarter! Missouri got to get their first points in the second quarter, this was a 33 yard touchdown run by De’Vion Moore; the score was now 24-7 Nebraska. In the second half the teams seemed like they went to sleep. Missouri scored a touchdown and field goal in the third quarter while Nebraska score a touchdown of their own. The score at the end of the third and at the end of the game was 31-17 Nebraska.
The last and final game is Utah vs. Air force. This was a game that was thought to have been a blow out, but the Air force academy being as strong as they are never gave up. At the end of the first it was 7-7. Both of the teams were playing good football and were not committing many mistakes. In the second quarter the Air Force score a field goal and Utah score a touchdown. Going into the half the score was 14-10 Utah.
In the second half it was like if each team took turns scoring in quarters. In the third it was all Utah; they scored two touchdowns and led the ballgame 28-10. In the fourth it was all Air Force; they scored two touchdowns but the rally was not enough and ended the game losing. The final score was 28-23 Utah. They remain undefeated and are playing very good football.

10/23/10 Week 8 Updates

We are now in week eight and the bcs race is really getting hot. We have still have six undefeated teams and every team is trying to stay on top. Some of the most interesting games this week are Oklahoma vs. Missouri, LSU vs. Auburn and Wisconsin vs. Iowa.
Number one Oklahoma had a big challenge this week going on the road to face the alway tough Missouri team who is ranked eleven in the country. In this game Missouri drew first blood, they returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown. Even though they got hit very fast Oklahoma strapped up and got to their game. They replied with a two minute drive to tie up the game. Throughout the whole game it was very even till the fourth quarter came around. Entering the fourth quarter the score was 21-20 Oklahoma. Missouri’s defense locked down the Oklahoma offense and scored and the ensuing three drive, two touchdowns and one field goal. With 6:36 remaining in the game the score was now 36-21 Missouri. They held on to win 36-27 and remained unbeaten.
The next game that had many on their toes was LSU vs. Auburn. This game did come down to the end but in my eyes should have been a blow out. The Auburn tigers just totally dominated and controlled the game, they had over 500 yards of offense but just could not capitalize on their successes. The first quarter was very slow with many mistakes and ended up being 7-3 Auburn leading. In the second quarter the LSU team seams to wake up and spark up this game. They score a touchdown run with Jefferson and held Auburn to a field goal in the whole quarter. Entering half time the score was 10-10. In the second half the game continued to be a nail bitter, in this quarter their was only one touchdown and it was by Auburn. They ended the quarter up 17-10. Entering the fourth LSU quickly scores to tie the ball game and give the ball back to Auburn with 12 minutes left in the game, the score is now 17-17. The last and final touchdown to win the game was by Auburn with 05:05 left in the game. This touchdown was an enormous 70 yard touchdown run by Ontario McCalebb.
The final game I have this week is Wisconsin vs. Iowa. Here we have two very physical and tough football teams that have a lot to lose. Both of the teams ranked in the top 15 are still on the chase for a major bowl game. The first quarter was close with few scoring Wisconsin scored a field goal and Iowa scored a touchdown but missed the extra point that is going to hurt them later on in the ball game. In the second quarter both teams put up a touchdown which made the game 13-10 Iowa at half. In the third quarter the teams came out firing. Wisconsin scored two touchdowns and Iowa one, the score entering the fourth was 24-20 Wisconsin. In the fourth Iowa struck back scoring twice in the first seven minutes. They put up a touch down and a field goal making the game 30-24 Iowa. Wisconsin with one minute left crushed Iowa and scored a late touchdown to win by one point. This was a really good game, both teams fought it out and at the end the missed extra point hurt Iowa big time.

Amazing weekend for college football

This weekend was another unforgettable college football weekend. Number one falls again, the gators go three in a row and the game cocks lost their swag.
The number one ranked Ohio State buckeyes lose their first game of the season to the always powerful #18 Wisconsin. This game was a landslide for the buckeyes from the beginning. Wisconsin took an early 14-0 lead that had the Wisconsin fans going wild, the stadium was electric. Buckeyes quickly tried to get everything together and started a slow comeback; they went into the half Wisconsin up 21-3. Through the third quarter Ohio scored one touchdown and had a two possession game; at the end of the third it was 21-10 Wisconsin. In the fourth quarter Wisconsin woke up once more and sealed the deal. They defeated the number one Ohio State Buckeyes 31-18.
The second game that really has me puzzled is the University of Florida vs. Mississippi State. I have personally seen college football for a long time and don't remember seeing the gators lose 3 games in a row. This is because it has not happened since Emmitt Smith played there. This game was a very slow one with plenty of mistakes. Turnovers and interceptions lost UF the game. Without further a do the final score was 10-7 Mississippi State.
The las game that had me shook was the S.C Gamecocks vs. University of Kentucky. This was really a shootout that did not have me surprised because Kentucky is a good team. Early in the game it looked like the S.C was going to keep scoring and stacking up the point to win. U.K never gave up though and ended the first half 28-10. The best thing of this game is how Kentucky fought back. They were relentless and kept pushing. They ended up scoring the last 21 points of the game and held the gamecocks to zero points in the second half. The final score was 31-28 Kentucky.

Top dog down, and amazing weekend.

How are we doing friends and followers. Today we have a special blog post. This saturday shocked many and had plenty of people saying what is going on. First we have the old rivalry UM vs. FSU, Michigan State vs. Michigan, and Alabama vs. South Carolina. These were all games that were very impressing.
We begin with UM vs. FSU. This games was said to be a shoot out, it seemed like only one team brought ammunition. Number 13 in the nation Miami was not clicking from the beginning. The offense, defense and even the special teams were not performing like they should have to compete with the ground and pound FSU team. The UM Quarterback had many breaks early, the FSU defense dropped a couple of possible interceptions. The FSU offense was on all cylinders and the defense was very stingy. The Florida seminoles started a little slow and took off but when they started to roll the hurricanes had nothing for them, by half time FSU was leading 24-7. The final score was 45-17 FSU. They played like the better team and could not be stopped.
The next game that was a very good one was Michigan State vs. Michigan. Everyone knows that MS has a powerful run game and a hard hitting defense, the problem is that Michigan had just what they needed a run friendly team with a good defense, the offense led with a heismen hopeful at quarterback. The game started steady and low scoring. In the first quarter it was Michigan up by a field goal. At halftime MS had the lead 17-10. At this moment the high scoring was still in mind. As the game went along both teams fought but the MS defense was pounding Michigan, not allowing them to do too much and get the ball in the end zone. Some dropped passes and misplacements got Michigan behind. The final score was 34-17 Michigan State keeping them undefeated.
The last but definitely not the least was the Alabama Crimson Tide vs. South Carolina. This game was to many a for sure victory for Alabama. They have been playing like the number one team they are and have just pounded every team they have played. This game was planned to be a tough one but a victory for the tide. South Carolina came out blowing steam in their home field. They knew what they had to do to win and how to do it. This team had one word on their mind and it was winning. The game from the beginning was all SCAR, there was a point in the first half that it was 21-3 SCAR. People around the country could be heard saying what is going on?! The final score was 35-21 SCAR and shocked the nation. This was really a remarkable one showing that no one should be on a pedestal and should be on their heels.

The Gators got drowned, Duck flew high and the coliseum silenced.

Saturday night had many anxious to see how recent national champions and top dogs in the country will play. This weekend special include the washington USC upset, the gators getting clapped and the ducks flying over sanford.
Lets begin with the game that was highlighted 3 months ago when the schedules came out, number 7 UF vs. number 1 Alabama. This game was expected to be a thriller being that these two teams have been national champions in the las two years. This game began as planned, hard hits big plays and smart play calling. Alabama received and quickly drove the ball down the field to strike first blood, the score is 3-0. UF quickly replied and drove the length of the field to the one yard line. The crimson tide held their ground and on a fourth down attempt stopped the gators. From this moment on it went down hill for the gators. Alabama quickly put up 28 points and put the gators in a hole. By the third quarter the game was 31-6 bama and little was done by the gators. No points were scored in the fourth even though both teams scored a good amount of yards. This was a big demonstration by the Alabama cremson tide that they are still the best team in the nation and the team to beat. The gators now fall to 4 and 1 and need to bounce back if they want to stay in the championship race.
The USC Washington game was thought to be a walk in the park for USC being that they are ranked number 18 in the country and Washington is unranked. Well that was not the deal this weekend. Washington went in to the coliseum ready to play and gave everyone in there a bang for their buck. The game was close all throughout, both teams were never more than 10 points away. It seemed like the harder USC tried to play the harder Washington played. As the fourth quarter came about USC was leading by two. Washington received the ball with a couple minutes left on the clock and drove it down swiftly. With 3 seconds left Washington scores the game winning field goal and upset the mighty trojans.
The last but certainly not least is the Oregon Ducks vs. Sanford. This was really a shootout till the end type of game. Early turnovers and many mistakes made Oregon worry and question their capability. Sanford quickly got ahead of Oregon 21-3 and had Duck nation very worried. With a new quarterback and experienced offensive line the Oregon Ducks organized a comeback. They went into the half only down a touch down 24-31. They regrouped and made some adjustments at half and returned like the Oregon team that many know. They bounced back with a shutdown defense and a powerful offense. The Ducks allowed 0 points in the second half and accumulated a staggering 28 points giving them a 21 point victory.
Other games to check out are Michigan vs. Indiana and Wisconsin vs. Michigan St.

Monday Night Nail Bitter

What is up homies? We are back for another weekend on sports. Today I actually would like to talk about the nail bitting monday night football game. This weeks monday night special was a flash back of one of the oldest rivals to ever exist in the NFL. This game was between the Green Bay Packers vs. the Chicago Bears. This was considered to be by many a quarterback face off. This event presented Aaron Rodgers, who is the quarterback for the Packers and Jay Cutler the quarterback for the bears. These two athletes had phenomenal evening. Aaron ended up 34 for 45 with over 300 yards passing and one touchdown and Jay Cutler ended up 16 of 27 with over 200 yards passing and one touchdown and one interception. It was a game that had to be seen, it went down to the wire. Packers led early 7--0 and held on till the second quarter when the Bears tied it up. The game went in to half time Packers leading 10-7. In the second half the courageous Rodgers tucked the ball away and dove in for a 7 yard touchdown. At this point the fans in Chicago were nervous. In the fourth quarter the Bears tough defense helped the team get back in. They forced a fumble that led to a touchdown. Now with the game in an arms reach for chicago they tied it up at 17 and made a game winning field goal to win the game. A game highlight was Mr. Kick Return himself Devin Hester's 62 yard punt return. It has been over two years since he has done so but decided to come through when the bears needed it it the most. The Bears remain undefeated and the Packers are 2-1. Dalis Ruane here checking out from another great football weekend.

College Football 09/17/10 Weekend

Hello curent friends and followers, I apologize for the late post, I had some technical difficulties. Anyways, this weekend was very interesting, we had a couple big match ups, and our powerful bulls had the weekend off. The top 25 teams remained undefeated besides the powerhouse Iowa hawks(9) that were beat by Arizona(24). Some of the games we are going to talk about is Clemson vs. Auburn(16), Texas(6) vs. Texas Tech, ASU vs. Wisconsin(11) and Massachusetts vs. Michigan(20).
Lets begin speaking of the Iowa hawks that were upset by Arizona. Here we have two teams in the top 25 that have been under the radar but are very powerful face off. Iowa began very slow, not the Iowa usually seen playing. After a quick Arizona score an Iowa interception taken back for a td Iowa was in the hole 14-0 early. In the second half the Iowa Hawks woke up and began responding, after a muffed punt by Arizona and an interception for a touchdown by the Iowa D-line the score was tied at 27! Arizona gets the ball with 7 minutes to play and score leaving 2 minutes on the clock, the score is now 34-27 Arizona leading. Iowa with 2 minutes left tries to generate a miracle game tying drive but cant. Arizona which was ranked 24 in the country upset number 9 Hawks.
Clemson vs. number 16 Auburn was a thriller that went into over time! This game seemed like it was going for Clemson all the way. BTW this would have been the first time Clemson would have beat Auburn since 1951. In the first half it was all Clemson, they were crushing Auburn 17-0, this quickly changed though. By the end of the 3rd quarter the auburn tigers came back and led 24-17 after some quick passes and kick returns. Clemson quickly ties the game at 24. We head towards overtime where Auburn was shaking in their boots, they go first and end up kicking a field goal, making the score 27-24 Auburn. Clemson goes down and kicks the field goal to tie the game and he makes it; but wait, they had a false start. That means they get pushed back five yards making it a 31 yard field goal. Unfortunately this field goal failed. Auburn wins.
The big time rivals Texas(6) and Texas Tech put on a show this weekend. Texas got into a quick lead in the first quarter leading 14-0 but things changed fairly quickly. Early in the second Texas Tech begin to fight back and return an interception to the house and score a td to tie the game at 14. Going on to the fourth quarter Texas leads 17-14. After a late touchdown by Texas they seal the deal and beat Texas Tech 24-14.
ASU(Arizona State) really had Wisconsin(11) scared this weekend. Even though ASU is unranked they played like if they were the ones that deserved the number 10 rank in the country. The score was 13 all in the third quarter when Wisconsin took the lead and had a 23 yard run to lead 20-13. The tough Arizona State team was not over yet, they came back and scored with around five minutes left in the fourth quarter. When attempting the extra point it was blocked by Wisconsin and saved an overtime shocker.
So there you have it friends and followers. Some of the Greatest games of this weekend. Tune in next week for the best of college football.
